Mercy Medical Center has announced that Kathy Good, senior director of The Chris & Suzy DeWolf Innovation Center for Aging & Dementia and the Family Caregivers Center of Mercy, has been named a 2024 Worldmaker Honoree. Recognized with the Community Weaver Award, Ms. Good joins other honorees who are actively dedicated to collaboration, equity and connection.
Presented by the Worldmaker Resilience Institute, the Community Weaver Award is for individuals who exemplify community-based collaboration, thereby fostering a sense of belonging for all, according to a release. Ms. Good exemplifies these qualities, having dedicated her life to supporting caregivers by creating spaces where they can find the resources and encouragement they need. Her efforts to celebrate diversity and inclusion, while also deepening social trust within the Cedar Rapids community, embody the spirit of the Community Weaver honor.
“Worldmaker is thrilled to shine a light on Kathy’s extraordinary work in uplifting people and building stronger, more resilient communities,” said Mollie Marti, CEO of Worldmaker, who has worked with Ms. Good to build resilience in care-provider communities. “Her unwavering commitment to creating meaningful connections through her work at the Family Caregivers Center of Mercy reflects the heart of what the Community Weaver Award represents.”
The Worldmaker Awards, now in their third year, are a global recognition program spotlighting remarkable individuals who make a difference in their communities. The 2024 awards were announced on Dec. 19, 2024.
