McGrath Auto is buying Toyota of Iowa City, general manager Gavin McGrath confirmed in an email to the CBJ on March 23.
Murphy McGrath will be the general manager of the new location. He says their intention is to “retain 100% of the Toyota of Iowa City staff.”

Toyota of Iowa City at 1445 Highway 1 W is a locally owned dealership currently offering new and pre-owned vehicles, as well as a service department for vehicle repairs.
The McGrath Family of Dealerships is a Cedar Rapids-based car dealer group serving Eastern Iowa at 14 locations. They offer Buick, GMC, Cadillac, Ford, Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep, Ram, Chevrolet, Volkswagen, Kia and Toyota in addition to more than 1,000 different pre-owned vehicles.
