Best advice you ever received?

The only time to set the bar low is for limbo.

What do you consider your biggest break so far?

Being offered a job at UIHC. It’s allowed me to branch out from just working at a design firm and it affords me the opportunity to work on a tremendously high volume of projects. Rather than getting into the weeds on just one or two projects, I’m able to work on an incredibly wide gamut.

What would most people be surprised to learn about you?

My 10-year-old son has beaten me in a few 5Ks.

If you had $1 million to give, what causes would you support?

Anything to support pediatric patients and their families in their most vulnerable times.

What are your passions outside of the workplace?

Spending time with my family, running and riding motocross.

What should people know about your generation in the workplace?

That they want to have fun and we work harder if we feel appreciated. It goes beyond compensation. It’s being recognized, singled out and having our accomplishments celebrated.

What do you want to accomplish by the time you are 50?

Invent a patentable device. I love innovation and cutting-edge technology, so I’d love to one day say I’m an inventor and I’ve left something behind. In addition to that, I’d like to continue to find ways to have a positive impact on healing within medical care spaces.
