Janna McCalley Interiors, located at 1080 Ninth Ave. Marion, will hold a grand opening and ribbon cutting from 4:30-7 p.m. Aug. 30. Ms. McCalley, a seasoned interior designer based in Marion, is opening a retail location offering high-end, handmade and hand-finished home goods showcasing artisans and small vendors.
This new retail experience, also known as The Shop at JMI, is a resource for unique items that can instantly refresh or update a living space. The shop features a mix of one-of-a-kind and high-quality products such as Fermoie lamp shades and pillows, and hand knotted Oushak rugs and runners.
The Shop at JMI is not only a retail destination but also serves as headquarters for her interior design agency specializing in full-service, remodel and new build. Ms. McCalley works with clients both locally and nationally.
“Design is all about my clients. Thoughtful design improves how you feel and live in your home, allows you to fully utilize and enjoy it in a way that suits your lifestyle,” she stated in a release. “I believe a beautifully designed home can be both functional and durable for any stage of life. Creating spaces with intentional choices means you don’t have to sacrifice style to have a home you love.”
Being a mom of young children helps her connect and relate to clients with kids, grandkids and the challenges life presents. She loves to create spaces that are livable and enhances a home through defining a personal style, not imposing her own aesthetic.
“I’m driven by using my gifts and abilities to serve and help others,” she said. “It is fulfilling to be able to bring out the potential in every space I work on, help clients define their style and see them enjoy a completed project.”
