ITC Midwest presented recreational electric wheelchairs to two Iowa veterans at the Iowa Chapter of Paralyzed Veterans of America’s annual trap shooting tournament at Otter Creek Sportsman’s Club in Cedar Rapids Monday, June 29.
The recipients were Marshall Dorman of Harcourt and Justin Wolfe of Dawson.
Mr. Dorman received an Action Track chair, an all-terrain tracked mobility device designed for rugged outdoor environments. Mr. Wolfe received a Zoom All-Terrain Wheelchair, an electric recreational unit with four-wheel drive and speeds up to 12 miles per hour.
Each unit is valued at approximately $16,000, bringing the total number of recreational electric wheelchairs awarded through the ITC Midwest program to 11.
The donations were funded through an annual summer charity golf outing organized by ITC Midwest employees, with a company match. The program has provided at least one wheelchair per year since its inception and has operated in partnership with the Iowa Chapter of Paralyzed Veterans of America, known as IPVA.

It is truly making a life-changing difference for the veterans who receive these chairs.”
Bethany Gridley, executive director of the Iowa Chapter of Paralyzed Veterans of America, said the chairs expand what recipients are able to do outdoors.
“These chairs give veterans the freedom to experience activities that may not have been possible without this level of mobility and independence,” Ms. Gridley said.
