ISETA to host solar event for houses of worship, nonprofits

CREDIT IOWA SOLAR ENERGY TRADE ASSOCIATION.

The Iowa Solar Energy Trade Association (ISETA) is hosting the Going Solar: Houses of Worship and Nonprofits event on April 23 in Hiawatha.

The event will begin at 1:30 p.m. at Prairiewoods Spirituality Center, located at 120 E. Boyson Road in Hiawatha. 

The program will include a panel discussion featuring people with experience implementing solar power at their facilities as well as solar energy advocates. Speakers will discuss the economic and environmental benefits of going solar, tasks that need to be completed to implement solar and hurdles people may encounter in the process.

The panel includes these speakers:

  • Genie Maybanks, Iowa Solar Energy Trade Association
  • David Gustafson, I-RENEW
  • Steve Guyer, Iowa Environmental Council
  • Rich Patterson, Linn Clean Energy District
  • Larry Steffen, Eagle Point Solar

The event will last for 90 minutes, ending at 3 p.m.
