The Iowa City VA Health Care System will host a ribbon-cutting Monday, April 28 on a new, expanded outpatient clinic in Decorah.
According to a release, the ceremony is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. at the new location, 1106 Military Boulevard, and will feature remarks from VA officials as well as local, state and federal leaders.
At 17,000 square feet – nearly double the size of the existing Decorah facility – the new clinic represents a major expansion in services and space. VA officials say the facility will offer enhanced care in primary care, mental health, physical therapy, telehealth, audiology, optometry and women’s health, among other services.
“The expansion from our previous location is a significant milestone in our commitment to providing exceptional care to our nation’s heroes,” the Iowa City VA said in a statement.
Shuttle service will be available for attendees, with pickups running from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. at the current clinic site at 915 Short St., Suite 163. Parking at the new location will be limited.
Following the ribbon-cutting ceremony, guests will be invited to tour the facility and enjoy light refreshments.
“The formal ribbon-cutting will symbolize a new chapter in Veteran care in Decorah and surrounding communities,” the release stated.
