What’s the best advice you ever received?
It is better to do a few things very well than a lot of things halfway.
What do you consider your greatest professional achievement(s)?
I am proud to be a part of the leadership team building a WATER Market at Stanley Consultants, which focuses specifically on issues of water, wastewater and water resources. Being the chair of the Young Member Council for the Society of American Military Engineers was also a great moment.
What do you know now that you wish you had known earlier in your career?
There are plenty of years available to build a career if there are things you want to do, like study abroad, get an additional degree or certification, etc. There is plenty of time to do those things and still be successful.
How do you ensure a balance between work and you personal life?
I use my time off. I travel with my husband and kids, with my husband and with other couples, We make time to get out of town and unplug a little.
What’s something people should know about your generation in the workplace?
A lot more goes into making a person, defining their work ethic and inspiring them to be a part of an organization than the year printed on their driver’s license.
What is the biggest issue facing the Corridor?
Managing development of the floodplain to provide flood storage/flood resiliency to keep homes and businesses safe during large events.
