The Greater Iowa City Area Home Builders Association (HBA) has elected Melissa Schooley, Eastern Iowa president of Great Western Bank, as 2022 president and Kevin McCreedy, co-owner of McCreedy-Ruth Construction, as first vice president.
Ms. Schooley has been an Iowa City Area HBA member since 1997. She chaired the association’s Women’s Council in 2007 and 2008 and was named Associate of the Year in 2010. She joined the organization’s board of directors in 2014 and was the Home Builders Association of Iowa treasurer from that year through 2018.
Ms. Schooley is dedicated to the community. She currently holds a board of directors’ position with The Housing Fellowship. She also was the 2013 Go Red For Women Johnson County chairperson and previously served on numerous nonprofit boards, including Iowa Valley Habitat for Humanity and The Domestic Violence Intervention Program.
Mr. McCreedy has been an Iowa City Area HBA member since 2003. He has chaired the Remodelers Council since 2021 and was named Builder of the Year in 2020 and Remodeler of the Year in 2018. He joined the organization’s board of directors in 2019 and currently sits on the Home Builders Association of Iowa Board of Directors.
Mr. McCreedy served in the Iowa Army National Guard for six years and graduated from Kirkwood Community College with a degree in construction technology. He and his wife live in North Liberty along with their daughters. During his spare time, he is involved in the girls’ activities as well as community and church projects.
