The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) has awarded Community Health Quality Recognition (CHQR) badges to the Eastern Iowa Health Center in Cedar Rapids.

These badges recognize health center programs that have made notable quality improvement achievements in the areas of access, quality, health equity and health information technology for the Uniform Data System (UDS) reporting period 2020.

The Eastern Iowa Health Center achieved badges for Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH) Recognition accreditation and Advancing Health Information Technology (HIT) for Quality.

The Patient Centered Medical Home Recognition recognizes health centers with PCMH recognition in one or more delivery sites.

The Advancing Health Information Technology (HIT) for Quality badge recognizes health centers that meet all criteria to optimize HIT services that advance telehealth, patient engagement, interoperability, and collection of social determinants of health to increase access to care and advance quality of care.

EIHC also achieved top quartile rankings in four outcome metrics:

  • Controlling high blood pressure
  • Colorectal cancer screening
  • Breast cancer screening
  • Cervical cancer screening

“The awards recognize our achievements in our daily focus of providing critical, primary and preventive quality care for some of the community’s most vulnerable members,” said Joe Lock, president and CEO. He continued by thanking the health center’s team for their “hard work in ensuring our continued high-quality care and accessibility.”
