Edelweiss Coffee & Tea Co., a coffee shop located at 626 46th Ave. inside the Amana Colonies Visitor Center, recently opened for business.
The new shop serves coffees, lattes, cold brews, iced coffees, smoothies, teas and tea lemonades. Pastries from Colony Cottage Bakery will also be available.
Owners Kayleigh and Michael Myers previously owned The Rusty Tractor at 4535 220th Trail but are now focusing on Edelweiss instead.
“Last year we renovated a horse trailer into ‘The RusTEA Trailer’ and took it all over Iowa serving our popular Tea Lemonades and an assortment of our drinks at different events,” Ms. Myers told KHAK. “I fell in love with the public interaction that you get while making someone a drink. Selling someone a shirt is a quick transaction but the little bit of time it takes to make a drink, I learned so much about who I was making it for.”
The shop’s name is inspired by The Sound of Music.
