CRST has announced the appointment of Bill Clement as its new group president and chief strategy officer, as stated in a Thursday news release. In this role, Clement will collaborate with executive leadership to shape and implement the company’s growth strategy, focusing on sustainable revenue growth and market differentiation.

“Bill brings a wealth of strategic insight and exceptional leadership experience to this position,” said CRST President and CEO Mike Gannon in the release. “His ability to build strong relationships and foster a collaborative environment will be instrumental in advancing CRST’s mission.”

In addition to his new responsibilities, Clement will continue to lead the specialized solutions and home solutions teams at CRST.

“This is an exciting opportunity to lead our incredible team toward achieving sustainable growth and market excellence,” Clement said. “I look forward to building on our strengths and achieving new milestones together.”

Clement joined CRST in 2018 as president of specialized solutions. He previously spent over 25 years at CSX Transportation in various leadership roles, including overseeing a 400-unit owner-operator trucking business in intermodal operations and leading the $1.8 billion intermodal business unit. Clement holds a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Jacksonville University and an MBA from the University of North Florida. He also completed the advanced management program at Harvard Business School.

CRST was also named a 2024 Carrier of the Year by global logistics provider C.H. Robinson in June. The award recognizes contract carriers that demonstrate operational excellence, including the use of technology to enhance service and an increase in volume of freight handled, according to a release.

“CRST is honored to be recognized as a carrier of the year by C.H. Robinson,” said Jeff Bethers, vice president of customer experience for CRST, in the release. “We’re grateful to our professional drivers and operations teams for making this award possible. Our business is about relationships, and C.H. Robinson is an organization where relationships still matter. We look forward to continuing our partnership.”

CRST’s dedicated solutions offer a range of fleet performance services, from drop-and-hook applications to high-velocity shuttles and comprehensive warehousing solutions.

Additionally, CRST’s #IAMSAFETY culture, which promotes personal responsibility and a commitment to safety, earned the company the 2024 Iowa Motor Truck Association (IMTA) Image Award. The award, announced at the IMTA’s annual banquet on Sept. 5 in Cedar Rapids, celebrates companies that excel in professionalism and safety, and raise positive awareness of the trucking industry.

CRST’s #IAMSAFETY unites its team around a shared commitment to maintaining industry-leading safety standards, according to a release from CRST.Â
