Michael Coulter has been promoted to market director of Palmer Group’s Cedar Rapids location, effective Oct. 1.
The newly-created position is in response to the office’s growth under Mr. Coulter’s leadership as territory manager.
In his new role as market director, Mr. Coulter will continue to lead Palmer Group business development initiatives across Eastern Iowa and western Illinois, as well as oversee the office’s employee development and engagement strategy.
“Mike has established himself as a business leader who is truly invested in the success of the business community he serves,” Palmer Group executive vice president Chris Lorenz said in a release. “Those who have had the pleasure of connecting with him have seen firsthand his desire to see others succeed. We are very fortunate to have Mike driving the culture in our Cedar Rapids office.”
Mr. Coulter has lived in Eastern Iowa for over 15 years and joined Palmer Group’s Cedar Rapids office in 2019 as an account executive. He received a Master of Business Administration from the University of Iowa and a bachelor’s degree in business from Coe College, and has eight years of experience in the finance industry working in sales, operational, and risk management roles.
During his tenure, Mr. Coulter has consulted with technology companies throughout the nation on financing strategies and sales talent development. In 2022, he was promoted to territory manager after the position became vacant, and has since led the office to surpass revenue growth goals.
