Cottage Grove Place to host Alzheimer’s Association presentations

Cottage Grove Place will host an exclusive monthly presentation with the Alzheimer’s Association of Iowa.

Cottage Grove Place announced a partnership with the Alzheimer’s Association of Iowa to host an exclusive monthly presentation at 2 p.m. of the fourth Tuesday of the month in the main Commons building, Sedlacek Hall, 2115 First Ave. SE, Cedar Rapids.

The first informational session on the new treatment for early-stage Alzheimer’s disease, Aducanumab, will be held at 2 p.m. Aug. 24.  

Aducanumab, is a new advancement in Alzheimer’s treatment, and this presentation will cover information on how it works, who are the intended candidates to receive the treatment, availability and more. Light food and beverage will be provided, and reservations are required and can be placed by calling Jessica-Leigh Arends, Cottage Grove Place health care liaison, at (319) 896-5780.

“We are happy to provide the Alzheimer’s Association with an outlet to provide the public education on the advancements of treatment for those struggling with Alzheimer’s,” David Snyder, executive director at Cottage Grove Place, stated in a release.

Cottage Grove Place is a continuing care retirement community, offering independent living, assisted living, memory care as well as short-term rehabilitation and long-term nursing care on one campus.
