Colony Acres Family Farm in North Liberty is included in the 2023 USA Today 10 Best Readers’ Choice travel award contest for Best Pumpkin Patch.
Katie Colony, owner of the 97-year-old farm and a third generation family farmer, said she is excited to be recognized on the list.
“At Colony Acres, we take pride in being family and community oriented,” she said. “We want friends and families to come to our space and make memories that last forever!”
Ms. Colony calls the farm “inclusive,” in that there’s something for everyone.
“You can play out on our bounce pad, take a tractor ride out to our pumpkin patch, or take a stroll through our corn maze,” she said. “In the barn you can browse our retail space that is filled with many local goods. Check out our bakery full of fresh donuts and homemade pumpkin bread, or grab a beer and enjoy it on our patio!”

Nominees are selected by a group of experts, including editors from USA Today and 10Best.com, expert contributors and other related sources. The public votes to honor the 10 pumpkin patches.
The 10Best Readers Choice Award contest introduces new award categories every other Monday at noon and announces 20 nominees for each category. Voting for favorite nominees in each category is available once a day for four weeks. The contest closes on the 28th day at noon, and the winners are revealed on the Friday after voting ends.

Colony Acres Family Farm is located at 1150 Front St in North Liberty. The farm is open Wednesday-Sunday, 10 a.m.-8 p.m., and the pumpkin patch is open through Oct. 31.
