The Cedar Valley Humane Society announced the soft opening of its new adoption facility, marking a key milestone in the organization’s Expanding Our Pawprint capital campaign.

After months of construction and preparation, the nonprofit has started transitioning operations into the new facility located next door to its existing shelter.

The move includes relocating equipment, long-stored supplies and animals, a release stated. During the transition, from Feb. 2 through Feb. 16, the organization will operate by appointment only as staff move animals and essential operations into the new space.

Normal business hours will resume Feb. 17, when the adoption facility officially enters its soft-opening phase.

The humane society will continue operating during the third phase of construction, which involves renovating the current shelter into a dedicated space for stray holding, isolation and public services. Phase three construction is expected to continue through July, the release stated.

A public grand opening is planned later this year following completion of the final construction phase., and additional project updates will be shared as work progresses.
