The long-awaited unveiling reception for the 2021 Book of Lists was held Thursday night, May 13 at Cedar Ridge Winery & Distillery near Swisher.
More than 100 people attended the event sponsored by Northwestern Mutual, each receiving a copy of the book, which features more than 70 ranked business lists, regional market facts, and the year’s most influential leaders and boards.
Northwestern Mutual Managing Partner Kalvin Grabau Keele introduced local artist Diana Brayton, who unveiled the 2021 Book of Lists cover artwork, “Blue Bubble,” created using alcohol ink mixed in with touches of calligraphy. A gallery of Ms. Brayton’s artwork is available for viewing at dianabraytonart.com.
CBJ CEO and Publisher John Lohman introduced the Most Influential Leader of 2020, Marion Mayor Nick AbouAssaly, who spoke of the challenges of the past year and the resilience of the Corridor’s communities working together. The top 25 Most Influential Leaders were voted on by CBJ readers in the summer of 2020 and originally announced in December.
Photos of the leaders, as well as the list of the top 25 Most Influential Boards, led by United Way of East Central Iowa, are available in the 2021 Book of Lists. Another feature of the book is a photo section of more than 170 Business Leaders You Need to Know.
