Iowa-based Big Grove Brewery is planning a series of celebrations commemorating its gold medal win at the Great American Beer Festival (GABF).

In October, the brewery’s Easy Eddy Hazy IPA was recognized in the Juicy or Hazy Pale Ale category, one of the most competitive divisions at the national event.

“Easy Eddy’s award represents a significant achievement for Big Grove,” a release stated. “Easy Eddy, since launching in package format in 2018, has become a favorite among beer enthusiasts across the state of Iowa and beyond.”

The achievement will be celebrated with events at Big Grove’s taprooms in Iowa City, Solon, Des Moines, and Cedar Rapids during the Thanksgiving holiday week. Highlights include $1 Easy Eddy draft specials – “for the #1 beer,” the release stated – merchandise giveaways, and additional promotions.

“At Big Grove Brewery, we strive to create unforgettable beers that reflect our passion for the craft and our love for our community,” said Andy Joynt, Big Grove Brewery’s director of brewing. “Bringing home gold for Easy Eddy is a dream come true, and we couldn’t have done it without the support of our loyal fans. We’re excited to celebrate this win with all of you and look forward to seeing everyone at our taprooms across Iowa.”

Big Grove’s events begin Wednesday, Nov. 27, from 3 to 11 p.m., and continue through Black Friday, Nov. 29, providing an opportunity for local patrons to celebrate the brewery’s success.
