With two separate event rooms and an outdoor patio area, Butcher Block Steakhouse has become a favorite meeting spot for Corridor businesses and professionals – a fact reflected by its first win as Best Place for a Business Lunch/Dinner.

Both event rooms can be set up for business meetings or luncheons, said Event Coordinator Kathi Jensen, and each room has its own private bar and restrooms. Projectors and screens are also available, making it a popular meeting place for groups including Metro Rotary, investment firms and training groups from Nordstrom. The patio, which has a covered bar area, is an option for groups wanting a more casual place to gather.

The restaurant’s menu offers something for everyone, including salads, sandwiches, fish tacos, black bean burgers, ahi tuna and bruschetta. The main me nu, featuring ½-pound burgers and Butcher Block’s signature aged steaks, is available during lunch. Items not on the menu can be requested for meetings or group gatherings.

“We’ve come up with some interesting concepts,” Ms. Jensen said, adding custom-made buffets are also available.

The Boyson Road location of Butcher Block Steakhouse opened in May 2014 under the Pankey family, which also owns several Riley’s Café locations in the Cedar Rapids area, under the company name Yeknap1 (Pankey spelled backwards).
