Aegon and Transamerica celebrated global “Force for Good Week”

From helping older adults with yardwork to removing invasive species in the woods in the Cedar Rapids area, Aegon and Transamerica celebrated their first ever global “Force for Good Week,” May 8 through 12.

According to a news release, employees are encouraged to give back to the community during this week, donating time to causes that matter most to them. 

Aegon and Transamerica’s purpose is to help people live their best lives, the release states. Volunteers from both companies helped at Tanager Place, Aging Services and Camp Courageous and other organizations.

As part of their year-round focus on community volunteerism, Aegon and Transamerica provide company-funded volunteer hours to eligible employees, the release states. The largest concentration of Transamerica employees in the  United States is in Cedar Rapids, and in 2022 the Aegon/Transamerica Foundation donated $2.1 million to nearby charitable causes. Also in 2022, Aegon and Transamerica employees contributed over 4,800 paid  volunteer hours to charitable causes in Iowa.
