A new wellness initiative, 5SeasonsFit, will debut in downtown Cedar Rapids from June 22-28, offering a week of free, family-friendly activities aimed at promoting health, connection and community engagement.

The six-day 5SeasonsFit event is being organized by Downtown Cedar Rapids in partnership with Big Grove Brewery and will highlight five core elements of well-being: physical fitness, mental health, nutrition, spiritual health and community involvement.

Activities will take place throughout downtown Cedar Rapids, many of them free to the public.

The event kicks off Sunday, June 22, with a Family Fun Kick-Off in Greene Square Park, featuring live music, food trucks, wellness vendors, a kids zone and opportunities to meet instructors who will lead classes throughout the week.

Scheduled events include expert-led group fitness classes at The Yard, a pickleball tournament hosted by Pickle Palace, a golf outing at Ellis Golf Course, a community run/walk and pop-up wellness experiences.

“At the heart of 5SeasonsFit is the belief that health and wellness should be accessible, fun and inclusive,” said Jennifar Bassett, district program manager for Downtown Cedar Rapids. “We’re creating a space where people feel supported and inspired, no matter their age or ability.”

Hannah Coyle, event coordinator for Big Grove Brewery, said the event responds to a need for connection and activity.

“We saw a real need for something that brings people together, gets them active and reminds them how fun it is to be downtown,” Ms. Coyle said.

The program is supported by Cedar Rapids Bank & Trust, de Novo Marketing, Kepros Physical Therapy and Performance, Kingston Yard, The MedQuarter Regional Medical District and Pickle Palace.

Most activities, including the kick-off and group fitness classes, are free but require registration. There is a fee for the pickleball tournament and golf outing.
