Best Architectural Firm: OPN Architects

OPN Architects joins the CBJ’s Best of the Corridor Hall of Fame this year after 10 Best Architectural Firm wins – a testament to the success of its solution-based approach, driven by data and rigorous attention to detail.

“OPN’s reputation is built on our fundamental belief that our clients always come first,” said Daniel Thies, president and principal of OPN, which is based in Cedar Rapids, and has more than 125 designers working in Cedar Rapids, Des Moines, Iowa City and Madison, Wisconsin. “We will not be outworked, and we will never walk away before a project not only meets but exceeds all expectations.”

More than half of the business OPN performs annually comes from a referral or repeat client, which Mr. Thies attributed to its commitment to service built on trust and mutual respect. The firm’s work spans a broad number of industries and project types, including corporate, civic, higher education, health care and libraries. It was recently honored with a Public Design Award from the Springfield chapter of the American Institute of Architects for its work on the Joplin Public Library, which was previously destroyed during 2011’s devastating tornado.
