UnityPoint Health – St. Luke’s Hospital is hosting two upcoming events to celebrate the opening of its new Marion ER.
The new St. Luke’s Marion ER is located at 3301 Armar Dr. in Marion, and is set for opening Tuesday, Aug. 6 at 9 a.m.
St. Luke’s ER team members, board members and administrators will be joined by Marion Chamber members for a ribbon cutting for the new Marion ER on Friday, July 26 at 2:30 p.m.
A community open house for the new St. Luke’s Marion ER is set for Saturday, July 27 from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Individuals are invited to tour the new facility, enjoy light refreshments and pick up giveaways.
The St. Luke’s Marion ER will be open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days per year and staffed by board-certified emergency medicine providers from East Central Iowa Acute Care (which currently serves St. Luke’s Cedar Rapids ER) along with nurses, patient care technicians, and other health care professionals.
Like any hospital emergency department, St. Luke’s Marion ER is equipped to treat patients with illnesses and injuries that require a higher level of care than urgent care offers.
The new Marion ER features:
- Full-service emergency care, with services like those offered at St. Luke’s Cedar Rapids ER at 1026 A Ave. NE in Cedar Rapids
- 12 private treatment rooms
- Advanced imaging for diagnostics and testing, including CT, X-ray and ultrasound
- An on-site laboratory
“We are excited for our Marion ER to open and want the community to stop out and see where it is, take a tour and meet some of the St. Luke’s team members who will be working there,” said Dr. Sarah Hoper, UnityPoint Health – St. Luke’s Hospital Marion ER medical director. “It’s a wonderful facility, and we look forward to expanding our scope of care by opening this ER in Marion.”
