The Grand Impact has opened its 2026 grant cycle, offering a $100,000 grant to one nonprofit organization serving the Cedar Rapids area.

The application window runs through July 31. Eligible 501(c)(3) organizations serving Greater Cedar Rapids are encouraged to submit proposals for community-strengthening projects with measurable, long-term impact.

“The Grand Impact is designed to elevate visionary nonprofit work and bring our community together around transformative ideas,” said Dave Sorg, an original founder of The Grand Impact. “Each year, we are inspired by the creativity, collaboration, and commitment demonstrated by local organizations and the generosity of the business community supporting Grand Impact.”

The 2026 program timeline is as follows:

    • July 1-31: Application window open
    • Late August: Top three nonprofit finalists notified
    • Sept. 25: The Grand Impact Celebration, finalist presentations and selection of the 2026 Grand Impact recipient

At the Sept. 25 celebration, the three finalists will present their proposed projects to an audience of community partners. The event will conclude with the selection of the 2026 Grand Impact recipient, who will receive funding to implement their project.

Nonprofits interested in applying can visit thegrandimpact.org for application details, eligibility criteria and supporting materials.

The Grand Impact also announced the launch of a redesigned website at thegrandimpact.org. The updated site includes streamlined navigation, application guidance and expanded information about the program’s mission and past finalists.

The Grand Impact is a Cedar Rapids-based giving initiative in which 50 local businesses each contribute $2,000 to fund a $100,000 grant awarded annually to one nonprofit serving the Cedar Rapids metro.
