ImOn Communications, a Midwest-based provider of fiber internet services, announced Thursday it renewed its naming rights agreement for the ImOn Ice Arena with the City of Cedar Rapids through 2030.

The five-year extension represents a $600,000 investment by ImOn in the Cedar Rapids community. The venue has carried the ImOn Ice Arena name since the company’s initial agreement in 2020.

“ImOn Ice Arena is a cornerstone of Cedar Rapids and a reflection of what matters most to the people who live here,” said ImOn President and CEO Patrice Carroll. “This renewal reflects our continued commitment to local-first connections and long-term investment in the markets we serve. We’re proud to build on our partnership with the City of Cedar Rapids and support spaces that make this city a great place to live.”

The arena is the home rink for the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders, a Tier I junior ice hockey team in the United States Hockey League (USHL). Managed by VenuWorks, the facility also hosts public skating, lessons, figure skating, and youth and adult hockey programs.

“We are excited to extend our partnership with ImOn Communications,” said Cedar Rapids City Manager Jeff Pomeranz. “The arena has become a staple in the Cedar Rapids community over the last 20 years, providing vital entertainment and recreational opportunities, and we greatly appreciate ImOn’s continued support.”
