The Iowa Healthiest State Initiative are looking for four individuals whose work has made a significant impact on the physical, social and mental well-being of Iowans for the 2026 Healthiest State Annual Awards.
Unlike previous years, the 2026 awards will focus exclusively on individuals from any sector, including schools, workplaces, communities and organizations, who demonstrate leadership, compassion and commitment to creating a healthier Iowa.
“These awards are about people — the individuals who show up every day to improve lives and strengthen communities,” said Jami Haberl, executive director of the Iowa Healthiest State Initiative. “By celebrating their stories, we hope to inspire others across Iowa to take action and contribute to a healthier future for our state.”
You can nominate someone at www.IowaHealthiestState.com/awards. The deadline for applications is 5 p.m. on Friday, May 8.
Recipients will receive statewide recognition, a special award, promotion through media and social channels, and opportunities to share their story.
Community members, colleagues and organizations are encouraged to nominate individuals whose work or volunteer efforts show a strong commitment to health and well-being.
The Healthiest State Initiative is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization dedicated to ensuring every Iowan has the opportunity to live their healthiest life.
