A Peosta-based manufacturer has taken the top prize in this year’s statewide competition celebrating Iowa-made innovation.
The Iowa Association of Business and Industry announced the Mi-T-M ePowerStation, manufactured by Mi-T-M Corporation, as the 2026 Coolest Thing Made in Iowa winner Tuesday at the Taking Care of Business Conference in Iowa City.
The ePowerStation is a high-capacity, emission-free portable power system designed to replace traditional gas-powered generators. Built on a rugged, wheeled frame, the unit delivers silent, maintenance-free power with zero fumes, making it suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.
The annual competition, presented by Nicolet National Bank, drew 68 nominated products from manufacturers across 51 Iowa cities before narrowing to four finalists through a public voting round and bracket-style tournament. The ePowerStation beat out the Weiler D1075 Blasthole Drill, manufactured in Knoxville; the Pella Steady Set, manufactured in Pella; and the Ironclad Tornado Shelter & Gun Safe, manufactured in Earlham.
“We’re incredibly honored to have the ePowerStation named the 2026 Coolest Thing Made in Iowa,” Mi-T-M President & CEO Rick Stanley said. “As an employee-owned company based in Iowa, this recognition reflects the hard work, creativity and dedication of our team, as well as our commitment to developing innovative solutions that meet the changing needs of our customers.”
Devin Boyer, senior vice president, market leader and commercial banking manager at Nicolet National Bank, congratulated Mi-T-M on the win and noted the competition’s broader significance.
“As presenting sponsor, we are proud to recognize the innovation and craftsmanship that define Iowa manufacturing,” Mr. Boyer said. “We are honored to support businesses with relationship-based banking that helps them grow, invest, and create jobs.”
ABI President Nicole Crain said the winner reflects the evolution of the state’s manufacturing sector.
“From traditional manufacturing roots to today’s advanced energy solutions like the ePowerStation, Iowa companies continue to evolve and lead,” Ms. Crain said. “ABI is proud to celebrate the people and businesses that make this industry such an important part of our state’s economy.”
