The Iowa Food Bank Association announced Tuesday that Executive Director Linda Gorkow will retire Nov. 8, after seven years leading the organization’s statewide hunger relief efforts.
Ms. Gorkow has led the association in uniting Iowa’s six Feeding America food banks through collaboration, advocacy and strategic partnerships.
“Linda’s leadership has helped elevate the statewide conversation around food insecurity, ensuring that Iowa families in need have greater access to nutritious food and essential resources. We thank her for her service,” said Kim Guardado, Iowa Food Bank Association board chair, stated in a release.
Before joining the association, Ms. Gorkow served as HACAP Food Reservoir director for nearly three years, overseeing food distribution across Eastern Iowa. She previously held marketing leadership positions at Westdale Mall, Tanager Place and Mercy Medical Center.
According to the release, the Iowa Food Bank Association is accepting applications for the executive director position.
