Big Grove Brewery has partnered with Iowa-born country music artist Hailey Whitters to release a limited-edition beer called “Corn Queen,” named after Ms. Whitters’ new album.
The crisp lager, brewed with Iowa-grown corn, becomes available Friday, Sept. 5 at Big Grove’s Iowa taprooms. The release coincides with Ms. Whitters’ Corn Queen Tour, which began Sept. 4 in Nashville and includes stops in Des Moines and Omaha, where Big Grove operates locations.
“Working with Big Grove on ‘Corn Queen’ has been such a fun experience. This beer celebrates my roots, and the joy of sharing good music with good people,” Ms. Whitters said. “We’ve created something that truly represents Iowa – a beer that fans can enjoy while celebrating the music and the heart of the Midwest.”
The collaboration represents an authentic partnership for the Iowa City-based brewery, according to Bryan Farrell, Big Grove’s director of marketing.
“We’re always looking at unique and interesting partnerships that are authentic to Big Grove. Collaborating with Hailey on Corn Queen feels like the perfect celebration of Iowa pride and creativity,” Mr. Farrell said. “We love crafting beers that tell a story, and teaming up with an Iowa artist like Hailey lets us share something truly special with beer lovers and fans.”
The Corn Queen lager will be available on draft and in six-packs for a limited time at Big Grove taprooms.
Big Grove Brewery ranks among Iowa’s top craft beer producers and in the top 75 nationally for barrel production. Founded in 2013 in Solon, the company now operates taprooms in Iowa City, Des Moines and Cedar Rapids, with an Omaha location scheduled to open this fall.
Ms. Whitters, a Grammy-nominated artist from Shueyville, won the Academy of Country Music Award for New Female Artist of the Year in 2023. Her platinum-certified single “Everything She Ain’t” reached the top 20 on country radio and appeared on her album “Raised,” which Rolling Stone named the top country album of the year.
