The Washington Chamber of Commerce received a $14,508 grant from the Washington County Riverboat Foundation for its Hotel Motel Committee Welcome & Wayfinding Signage project, which seeks to make Washington a more welcoming place for visitors and residents alike.

According to a Dec. 12 press release, two monument signs and 11 wayfinding signs will be placed throughout the town. The monument signs will be located at the east and south entrances of town, and the wayfinding signs will indicate the locations of various amenities.

The project is a joint effort of the collaborative Hotel/Motel Tax Fund Administration Committee with the Washington Chamber of Commerce and the City of Washington, aiming to provide a cohesive look to the signage and make Washington easier to navigate.
