Van Meter is accepting applications for its Spark Your Success Scholarship, which provides up to five $2,000 awards to individuals pursuing careers in electrical-related fields.

The scholarship is open to those who have completed a high school diploma or GED and are enrolled in an apprenticeship, associate, or undergraduate degree program in areas such as engineering, supply chain management, information technology, solar installation, construction management, or electrical distribution, a news release states.

The initiative comes as demand for skilled workers in the electrical industry continues to grow. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment for electricians is projected to increase by 11% from 2023 to 2033, significantly higher than the average 4% growth rate for all occupations.

Van Meter introduced the Spark Your Success Scholarship last year, awarding four students in May from a large pool of applicants. The company aims to support workforce development in the industry while investing in future professionals.

Danielle Monthei, Van Meter’s community impact manager, said the scholarship reflects the company’s commitment to both the industry and the communities it serves.

“We’re supporting a growing need for workers in the electrical industry and awarding these scholarships to our future customers, suppliers, and co-workers,” she said, in a news release.

Scholarship recipients are selected based on their commitment to pursuing a career in the trades and their dedication to making a positive impact in their communities. Van Meter encourages applicants who are passionate about both professional growth and community service.

Applications for the 2025 scholarship cycle are open through March 15. Interested individuals must complete an application and submit a letter of recommendation at vanmeterinc.com/scholarship. Scholarship recipients will be announced in May.
