Hospital publication Becker’s Hospital Review has named UnityPoint Health – St. Luke’s to this year’s nationwide “100 Great Community Hospitals” list.
St. Luke’s is the only hospital in Cedar Rapids to make the list, and just one of two in the state — the other being Cass Health Hospital in Atlantic, Iowa.
The community hospitals named to the list, as seen on Becker’s website, are “focused on bringing clinical and academic excellence, personalized and holistic care, and overall improved health to their communities.”
In the publication, Becker’s reported St. Luke’s is the only hospital in Cedar Rapids to receive the Magnet Hospital for Nursing Excellence designation and is among the 2% of hospitals to receive this designation four times. Becker’s also noted the hospital has continuously enhanced cardiovascular services over the past 40 years, including a $25 million heart and vascular services expansion project set to be completed in 2025.
“We are honored to be recognized by Becker’s Hospital Review as one of the 100 Great Community Hospitals for 2024,” St. Luke’s President Casey Greene said in a press release. “This recognition reflects the hard work and dedication of our entire team in delivering exceptional care to those in Eastern Iowa.”
