UnityPoint Health – St. Luke’s Foundation accepting applications for rural health care grant program

UnityPoint Health – St. Luke’s Foundation is accepting applications for its Rural Health Care Grant Program, which provides matching grant funds toward health care services for rural residents living in Benton, Buchanan, Cedar, Delaware, Iowa, northern Johnson, Jones and Linn counties. The maximum grant request is $6,000.

The program has been in existence since 1980, and endows funding assistance for emergency care equipment in the pre-hospital environment, training for emergency personnel to gain or enhance their skills, basic life supporting training equipment such as hands-only CPR and Little Anne (a cost effective, diverse skin-tone CPR manikin for Basic Life Support (BLS) training), and mileage reimbursement for transportation programs.

Eligible entities include ambulance services, paramedics, fire and rescue departments, transportation programs and first responders.
