UnityPoint at Home has been named a Best Home Health Agency for 2026 by U.S. News & World Report. This recognition comes as part of U.S.  News’ first-ever ranking of home health providers, identifying the top-performing agencies in the  United States.

Four of the UnityPoint at Home agencies in Iowa – Dubuque, Fort Dodge, Storm Lake and Waterloo – earned the “High Performing” designation. Such a ranking is the highest level of recognition and awarded for exceeding  expectations in care quality and patient experience based on the methodology used by U.S. News.

In addition, UnityPoint at Home agencies in Moline and in the Iowa cities of Cedar Rapids, Sioux City and Urbandale all earned the second highest level of recognition in U.S. News’ inaugural report. UnityPoint at Home is part of UnityPoint Health, headquartered in West Des Moines.

With more than 3 million patients turning to home health agencies each year, this inaugural  list helps communities and families find top-tier home care, U.S. News said in announcing the winners.

By prioritizing patient outcomes and patient experience, these ratings help people confidently choose, in consultation with their physicians, the right care for themselves or their family members.

“This recognition reflects the exceptional experience our team members provide at every patient  visit,” Jenn Ofelt, president of UnityPoint at Home, said. “Their expertise allows patients to  receive the safe, high-quality, expert care they deserve in their own homes.”

In the first-time recognition, U.S. News evaluated 12,000 agencies across the country and just 17% of the agencies rated were awarded the Best Home Health designation.

    Rating methodology

“Earning the Best Home Health distinction is a significant achievement, as it is reserved only for  those agencies that satisfy U.S. News’ standards of care quality and patient experience,” Ben Harder, chief of health analysis and managing editor at U.S. News, said in the release.

The Best Home Health methodology developed by U.S. News leverages two data sets from the  Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. Data on care quality measures, including timely  initiation of care and outcomes such as potentially preventable hospitalizations, were combined  with patient experience surveys to produce the ratings.
