Forbes magazine named the University of Iowa and UI Health Care among the America’s Best Employers by State 2024 list.
According to a release, the list, unveiled Aug. 20, features 30 employers across the state, with UI Health Care taking the No. 8 position and the University of Iowa landing at No. 18.
“From our exceptional benefits, world-renowned reputation, to our strong workplace culture, the University of Iowa is committed to being a top place to work,” said Cheryl Reardon, UI chief human resources officer and associate vice president. “Our campus is a wonderful place for employees to grow their career while enjoying all the resources and amenities our community has to offer.”
Denise Jamieson, the university’s vice president for Medical Affairs and dean of the Carver College of Medicine, highlighted the dedication of UI Health Care employees in advancing world-class clinical care, research, and education.
“Our greatest strength is our people. It is our employees that make our mission a reality each and every day and make UI Health Care an exceptional place to work, receive care, and train,” said Dr. Jamieson.
Forbes, along with market research firm Statista, compiled the list by surveying more than 160,000 employees at companies with 500 or more workers nationwide.
Participants evaluated their employers based on likelihood to recommend and personal experiences over the past two years. The final rankings considered data from the last three years, with greater emphasis on recent responses.
A total of 1,294 organizations across the U.S. were recognized, spanning sectors such as education, health care, retail, government services, and banking.
