This fall, employers will have a new way to reach business students thanks to a recently developed initiative by at the University of Iowa’s Tippie College of Business.

The Tippie Corporate Sponsorship program will provide employers the opportunity to more effectively engage with Tippie College of Business students by building their brand on campus with students and faculty while providing a contact to promote job opportunities by major.

“We often hear that our students are in-demand and employers would like more opportunities to build relationships with them,” said Amy Kristof-Brown, dean of Tippie College of Business. “This program is designed to help businesses build their brand on campus, connect with students through professional development events, and showcase their open positions to students who would be most interested in filling them.”

Participating businesses can choose from three sponsorship tiers, with benefits ranging from guest speaking opportunities, business case presentations in class, to featuring company logos throughout campus.

Costs vary depending on tier, and fees from participating organizations go to the Tippie’s Undergraduate Career Services office. The program is scheduled to begin fall 2023, and businesses can join at any time.

“By building their brand on campus, we open the doors for all Tippie students to pursue hiring opportunities and fill the talent pipeline and employment needs,” said David Ernst, executive director of Strategic Partnerships at Tippie. “We want to continue to make the State of Iowa the top post-graduation destination for our undergraduate students.”

The program is part of a larger initiative to help Tippie students start their careers that also includes the new Undergraduate Career Services office that opened March 2023. The office curates job leads for business students through its Handshake online job database, supports industry-specific career events, and shares career development resources.
