Buffet lovers, rejoice – The Golden Apple, the newest buffet restaurant in Cedar Rapids, finally opens its doors today after months of social media-fueled anticipation.
Located at 2811 Wiley Blvd. SW Ste. 200, next door to the Dirty Dough cookie shop, plans for The Golden Apple were first announced in July.
The Golden Apple buffet in Cedar Rapids offers dozens of Chinese entrees and side dishes, as well as sushi, sashimi, pho and hibachi, salads and more.
“Savor a diverse selection of dishes crafted from the freshest ingredients, each with a unique twist that reflects our commitment to culinary innovation,” The Golden Apple’s website promises. “From globally inspired flavors to classic favorites reimagined, our buffet offers a feast for the senses that is both original and unforgettable.”
Prices for The Golden Apple are $14.99 for lunch, Monday-Friday from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.; $18.99 for dinner, Monday-Friday from 3-9 p.m.; and $19.99 on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. Kids’ prices are also available for those aged 3 to 11, ranging from $6.99 to $12.99 depending on time and age. Kids under 3 eat free.
Takeout by the pound is also available.
The restaurant’s hours are 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday, 10:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday.

The Golden Apple opened its first location in Papillion, Nebraska in April 2024, and expanded with locations in Snellville, Georgia and Biddeford, Maine later in the year. The company plans to open more locations in the near future, according to their website.
