The Arc of East Central Iowa is hosting annual bike ride

The Arc of East Central Iowa will hold its second annual “Bike, Pedal & Stroll: The Wheely Big Bike Ride” on Sept. 25.

Presented by Veridian Credit Union, the ride will get underway at Sag Wagon, 827 Shaver Rd NE, at noon with a south loop to Ely and back. Both a short route of five miles and long route of 20 miles are being offered to accommodate all rider abilities.

Registration is $50 or $450 for teams of 10. Those under 18 can ride for free. Each paid registrant receives a crossbody sling bag, three raffle tickets and rider specials at all ride stops that day. Riders are encouraged to pre-register online. Walk-up registrations will begin 11 a.m. Sept. 25 at Sag Wagon.

Theresa Lewis, executive director of The Arc says, “We are excited to once again host a healthy, inclusive, and family-friendly community event that supports individuals with disabilities The Arc is honored to serve,” said Theresa Lewis, executive director of The Arc said, in a news release.
