The Housing Trust Fund of Johnson County has opened applications for $3.2 million in funding to support the construction and rehabilitation of affordable housing across the county.
Local businesses, nonprofit groups, builders, developers and government agencies can apply to fund affordable housing projects – including owner-occupied, rental, transitional, and emergency units – for residents earning less than 80% of the Area Median Income.
Applications are due by 11 a.m. on July 3. The Trust Fund is offering a series of training sessions, including an overview of its Revolving Loan Fund, to guide applicants through the process. Full application materials and guidance are available on the Housing Trust Fund’s website.
“The opportunity for increased support this round acknowledges the challenges faced by those who want to provide affordable housing when the cost of labor, materials, borrowing, etc. keeps increasing”, said Ellen McCabe, executive director of the Housing Trust Fund.
Since its founding in 2004, the nonprofit has invested more than $17 million to help create or preserve housing for 1,300 low-income households in Johnson County.
