Midwest outdoor equipment retailer Russo Outdoor Power Plus Equipment announced it has opened for business at 1215 Center Point Road in Hiawatha, the former location of Midway Outdoor Equipment.
Midway made the transition after more than 65 years in business, a release stated.
“This expansion reflects Russo’s long-term investment in the outdoor power equipment industry, building on the foundation of legacy businesses and serving the professionals who power their communities,” the release stated.
Midway was founded in 1958 as Midway Farmers Market, a neighborhood hub for groceries, fuel and small engine repair. The company, operated by three generations of the Schutzman family, eventually evolved to focus on outdoor equipment, service and repair.
“Midway represented the best of Midwest business – family-run, hardworking, and trusted,” said Michael Kolowski of Russo Power Equipment. “We’re honored to carry that torch forward with the same familiar team, now supported by Russo’s expanded resources and deep industry experience.”
The new Russo location will be known as Russo Outdoor Power Plus – Hiawatha.
