Professionals who would like some inspiration for their existing business and entrepreneurs seeking fresh feedback are invited to Startup Weekend Cedar Rapids.
Starting Friday, participants will have the opportunity to present ideas for new products, followed by sessions Saturday and Sunday where teams of participants will focus on customer development, validating ideas and practicing Lean startup methodologies, according to entrepreneur Eric Ries. Organizers stated that typical Startup Weekend events include many attendees with technical or design backgrounds.
The three-day event will be hosted by Startup Weekend, an international network under Up Global, a corporate-sponsored nonprofit aimed at supporting entrepreneurship. Sponsors for the event include the Cedar Rapids Metro Economic Alliance and the Iowa Startup Accelerator.
The event is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. Friday at the Iowa Startup Accelerator at 415 Twelfth Ave. SE, Cedar Rapids. Pricing and additional information can be found here.
