As announced in a news release Wednesday, UnityPoint Health – St. Luke’s Foundation is accepting applications for its Rural Healthcare Grant Program. A previous round of the grant program was offered in 2022.
The program provides matching grant funds towards health care services for rural residents living in Benton, Buchanan, Cedar, Delaware, Iowa, northern Johnson, Jones and Linn counties.
The maximum grant request is $6,000, and the grant will not fund more than 50% of the grant project. St. Luke’s Foundation will match every award dollar by dollar, as stated on the UnityPoint Health website.
Eligible entities include:
- Ambulance Services
- Paramedics
- Fire and Rescue Departments
- Transportation Programs
- First Responder
The funds can be used toward the following needs:
- Equipment for emergency care in the pre-hospital environment
- Training for emergency personnel to gain or enhance their skills
- Basic life supporting training equipment such as hands-only CPR and Little Anne
- Mileage reimbursement for transportation programs
