Both locations of Speedeezz Indoor Karting are now closed permanently, owners announced via their Facebook page.

The closures were announced Saturday morning, and the businesses closed their doors as of Sunday night.

“We would like to express our deepest gratitude for your support over the last almost 6 years,” the Facebook post says. … THANK YOU  Cedar Rapids, surrounding areas and everyone who traveled so far to visit us. And lastly to our amazing employees, former and current, who gave us their all. We built a family here.”

The post also indicated that Speedeezz would be unable to give any refunds for advance ticket sales or unused gift card balances.

The first Speedeezz opened in late 2017 at 4750 Tama St. SE, in a building previously occupied by a fabric store. It was later moved to a former warehouse at 1120 33rd Ave. SW.

The business later added Speedeezz 2, a second track facility with karts equipped for higher top speeds of up to 50 mph.

Speedeezz also offered karting leagues and rentals for private parties and corporate events.
