Visitors to the Coral Ridge Mall in Coralville are invited to get their hands sticky with the debut of Slime Kitchen, an interactive slime-making venue that offers customizable slime creation experiences.

“Our two daughters are absolutely obsessed with slime, so being able to bring Slime Kitchen to our community has been an exciting venture for us,” said Maurice Williams, co-owner of the Coralville Slime Kitchen.

“I believe this space will be a hub for creativity, laughter, and connection for families, kids, and slime enthusiasts in our area, as well as service groups that benefit from therapeutic, sensory-centered activities,” co-owner Shelbie Williams said.

Customers are guided through a ten-step process that begins with a base and continues with choices in scents, colors and mix-ins.

According to a release, the Coral Ridge location joins nine other Slime Kitchens spread across California, Nevada and Oregon.

“We’re thrilled to continue to bring Slime Kitchen to new communities across the U.S., especially in Iowa, as there are no experiences that are akin to what we offer,” said Kathy Ando, founder of Slime Kitchen. “Slime Kitchen was born out of my daughter’s love for slime, and as we continue to grow, it’s amazing to see the shared love so many people have for this joyful activity that truly brings us together.”

To celebrate the opening, the Coralville Slime Kitchen will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony and grand opening event on Thursday, Feb. 20. The store is located next to the Iowa Children’s Museum.
