University of Iowa Health Care leaders announced that Hematology-Oncology Associates of the Quad Cities will join Iowa’s only comprehensive academic medical center on Feb. 24.
The new relationship will allow patients in the Quad Cities to have greater access to clinical trials and advanced treatments such as molecular oncology and immunotherapy. The two-oncologist practice includes doctors Shobha Chitneni and Mario Sy.
“We are very enthusiastic to bring treatments from UI Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center to the people of the Quad Cities,” Dr. Chitneni stated in a press release.
The practice will continue to see patients at their current location and will continue to offer infusion treatments. The practice will see patients as usual on Monday, Feb. 27, and both doctors will continue to maintain their hospital at both Genesis Health System and UnityPoint Health – Quad Cities.
