Physicians’ Clinic of Iowa has added Sarah B. Ongstad, M.D., to its vascular surgery team. She will join the organization in July.

Dr. Ongstad joins PCI after completing fellowship training in vascular and endovascular surgery at Eastern Virginia Medical School, Norfolk, Virginia. Â A native of North Dakota, Dr. Ongstad earned her bachelor of science degree from the University of North Dakota at Grand Forks. She achieved her medical degree at University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health, Madison, and performed her surgical residency at Iowa Methodist Medical Center, Des Moines. She is certified by the American Board of Surgery in general surgery, board-eligible in vascular surgery, and is a member of the Society for Vascular Surgery and the American College of Surgeons.
Her special interests include abdominal aortic aneurysm repair, endovascular aneurysm repair, peripheral angiography, carotid artery surgery and stenting, and varicose veins and treatment of venous insufficiency.
