North Liberty’s Snuggie Crawl is set to return for its seventh year, inviting participants to bundle up in Snuggies – the blanket-with-sleeves made popular in TV infomercials – for a night of festivities to help beat the winter blues.
Scheduled for early 2025, the event features stops at local establishments offering complimentary appetizers, drink specials, and themed activities. Participants can enjoy unlimited rides on a party bus loop, mug for the camera in a photobooth, and receive a $5 Lyft voucher for a safe trip home.
Best-dressed Snuggie Contest
Adding some creative flair to the event, the Best Dressed Snuggie Contest encourages participants to alter their Snuggies with their own custom design for a chance to win free tickets to the 2026 Snuggie Crawl.
Two winners will be selected: one through Public Choice – decided by the most “likes” on Facebook photos – and another by the Beat the Bitter Committee. Both winners will receive a pair of tickets to next year’s crawl.
To participate, attendees need to pick up their Snuggies on Jan. 22 or 23, decorate their Snuggies ahead of the event, take a picture with the “VOTE FOR ME!” prop at the photo booth during the crawl, and look for contest submissions in the Facebook Event album the week of Feb. 3.
Optional donation to Shelter House
At the end of the night, participants can donate their non-decorated Snuggies to Shelter House, with collection bins available at each stop. Donated Snuggies should be dropped off at the participant’s final destination, as party bus drivers only allow Snuggie wearers to board.
Tickets are $55 through Dec. 31, rising to $65 on Jan. 1. Participants must be 21 or older by Feb. 1, 2025.
