The Marion Chamber of Commerce and Uptown Marion Main Street program have announced the hiring of Lacey C. Schroeder as the new Uptown Marion Main Street director.

According to a release, Ms. Schroeder brings a wealth of experience in business development, project management and community engagement.

She holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Upper Iowa University and a B.A. in art. She is also a recipient of the Congressional National Service Award, which honors individuals who have made significant contributions to their communities.

Growing up in rural southeast Iowa, Ms. Schroeder said she has always been passionate about community development, and is eager to channel that passion into her new role with Uptown Marion Main Street.

“I am absolutely elated to step into the role of program director for Uptown Marion,” Ms. Schroeder said in the release. “This is an incredible opportunity to collaborate with such a vibrant community, and I am eager to contribute to the growth and revitalization efforts that make Marion a truly special place.”

In her role as program director, Ms. Schroeder will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing the economic vitality and cultural vibrancy of Uptown Marion, and her background in project management and business development will be instrumental in driving forward key projects to benefit Marion residents and businesses alike.

“Lacey Schroeder will be an excellent addition to Uptown Marion,” Marion Chamber President Jill Ackerman said. “Lacey has a unique background having owned two small businesses, which means she possesses an entrepreneurial spirit that will serve her well as she builds relationships with local business owners.”

Ms. Schroeder will begin her new role Aug. 21. She is filling a position vacated by former Uptown Marion Marion Street program director Brooke Prouty, who left for a role as small business specialist with Main Street Iowa.
