Modern, a Cedar Rapids-based mechanical contractor, has purchased a second facility at 850 Mann Rd. to support fabrication growth and consolidate operations.
The new location, situated near the company’s headquarters at 500 Walford Rd., will expand fabrication capabilities, consolidate multiple temporary rental locations and enhance storage and logistics operations, according to the company.
“This investment reflects our commitment to building for the next generation,” said Bob Brown, CEO of Modern. “As we continue to grow, expanding our fabrication and operational capacity allows us to better serve our customers, support our team, and reinvest in the communities where we live and work.”
The Mann Road facility will complement Modern’s existing headquarters, which the company said will remain a central part of its long-term footprint. The proximity of the two locations is intended to improve efficiency and coordination across teams.
Founded in 1939, Modern is a third-generation, family-owned mechanical contractor specializing in plumbing, piping, sheet metal, HVAC, refrigeration and service. The company serves commercial, industrial and institutional clients across the Midwest.
