Mercy Medical Center has named Greg DeWolf as interim president and CEO following the retirement of Dr. Timothy Quinn on April 3.

Mr. DeWolf brings more than 30 years of health care leadership experience to the role, including nine years at Mercy. He most recently served as executive vice president and chief operating officer.

Before joining Mercy, Mr. DeWolf held several federal health care leadership positions during a 22-year career in the U.S. Air Force. DeWolf is a certified medical practice executive and holds a master of business administration degree from the University of Iowa.

The hospital system announced that a national search is underway to identify Mercy’s next permanent president and CEO. It added that Mercy’s strategic direction and commitment to providing high-quality, compassionate care will remain unchanged during the transition.

Mercy Cedar Rapids is a Catholic health care system serving eastern Iowa. The system includes Mercy Medical Center, a 424-licensed-bed hospital in downtown Cedar Rapids, a network of specialty clinics, and MercyCare primary and urgent care clinics.
